98MW in Huatacondo achieved by AustrianSolar

AustrianSolar has managed to sell the next of its Photovoltaic Projects developed in Chile, Huatacondo with 98MW nominal power, to a Japanese Consortium headed by Sojitz Corporation with participation of Shikoku  Electric Power a Japanese utility and Eiffage as the awarded EPC and O&M contractor. Eiffage having constructed several PV plants in Chile thus counting with the experience the Japanese Consortium was looking for. The Plant located in the norther part of the country close to the boarder to Peru in the Atacama desert is reaching the highest sun irradiation available worldwide. It will sell the energy produced as of August 2018 on the spot market.

AustrianSolar headquartered in Vienna/Austria and acting from their subsidiary in Santiago/Chile since early 2013 with a team of six specialists, experienced in the development, construction and operation of Photovoltaic, Wind and conventional energy power plant. It has sold a year back its first project with 102MW to Total/Sunpower. At present AustrianSolar has four more utility size projects under development thereof one being ready to build, whereby the others still need 8-12 month to go. The Company will use its base in Chile for long term growth, both in Chile as well as for their planned expansion in LATAM.
